"Well? Did you see anything?" Rita glanced behind her, narrowly avoiding an elbow to the face, to see Cindy struggling through the post-concert crowd. There was only one line going out of the building, and people had resorted to pushing and kicking to get out first.

Cindy ducked under the interlocked fingers of a young punk couple, clutching her poster possessively to her chest. "Yep!"

Rita wondered why on Earth she seemed thrilled. "And?"

"Terry noticed my poster!" Cindy grinned. "She thought it was a creative way to ask her out."

Of course. "What about the vampirism?" Fresh air loomed ahead of them. Rita grabbed Cindy's arm and climbed over the medians to make it outside. "Did you get what we needed?"

Shrugging, Cindy looked at her poster again, a wide smile on her face. "I forgot to check."

Briefly Rita wondered if she could smack her, and make it look like an accident. Cindy seemed distracted enough that she wouldn't even think to check Rita's mind, to wonder if it was her friend. In the end, she just sighed and stared at the flashing lights in the near distance. "Well, I suppose the night wasn't a complete waste."

Looking up, Cindy followed her gaze. Six ambulances were zipping through the traffic, after picking up fans that had blacked out at the end of the concert. Fans that suddenly had blood pressures so low as to be nearly dead. "Sorry, Ri."

"Don't mention it. She's so hot she's distracting. It's part of her glamor." Rita shook her head, and they managed to maneuver around the crowd, and back to their Toyota. Yawning, she mentally calculated how far they were from the nearest Starbucks. About a block, at her estimate. Rita grimaced. It would still take them half an hour to get there, and that was if Rita weaved through the beat-up trucks and bumper-stickered cars. "We'll get her at the next show."

Cindy grinned, a silly little smile on her face. She was bopping her head to a beat that Rita feared she'd never get out of her head. "And Cindy?"

"Hm?"

"Leave the poster at home next time."
