Your rewrite is excellent! The scene with Liathan and Placidus works so much better--I laughed aloud at the whole Bill Clinton bit. And that the drums are Placidus's favorite color and Liathan is horrified--and Liathan's blatant mug--LOLOLOL. :D I'd love to read more of this pairing if you're ever in the mood. Oh, and a great title, too.

Thanks! I have this weird sort of epic backstory of Marcus then running into other people who want the Eagle, and it becoming this contemp. thriller sort of situation, but thankfully none of that made it into this particular fic. XD

Thanks! I watch way too many pawn shop reality tv shows, so it was inevitable that I'd write an AU set there at SOME point, and this seemed like the perfect time. :D
