Icicles hung along the Empath as he swayed back from the meeting with his superiors. Careening against brick labyrinths, Daryene struggled to recall the words they'd exchanged; Annah's broken leer drowning all anamnesis.
Slumping into drifts of enveloping snow, he stretched for Luku's blue lips, sprawling just outside their door.
