Cities are such big places -- the world is such a big place -- and yet we still get news reports like "Plantation man cuts off hand while mowing lawn." No, what I don't want is for it and articles like it to exist in the first place. If you can tell me what value it has, then yes, I will get over myself. Because even for entertainment value it's not really that interesting; not like the time this guy shot 12 staples into his head and somehow managed to live. THAT is a miracle. Or the time the guy was mountain climbing and he got his arm stuck under a rock so he amputated it himself. Was the lawnmower story so special that it had to go on the "Breaking News" section of the Herald website, right next to the headline? No. It's just filling the front page with crap when I'm willing to bet there are more substantial things deserving mention.
