Having finally moved house and sorted through lots of crap i have found quite a few old fashioned photo's of bits of arms and armour i made.
So i thought i would inflict them on you all now.
evilmattikinz may find this usefull.
BRIGANDINES
I made my first (and to date only brigandine) for
wyte_phantom a few years ago now.
I had wanted to make one for a long time but i dont have any skill in the sewing department so
wyte_phantom made the base garment up and i did the rest.
Not before i got to go squeeeee in the reserve collection at the Royal Armouries at lots of original Brigandines including Henry the 8th's, now that was a work of art.
So the following is was my attempt at a brigandine.
This shows the internal plate arangement on the back panel i used 1.2mm zintec coated steel held in with flat head brass rivets.
The line of missing plates is the natural waist line and the plates that fill this gap are curved into a shallow V shape.
I also made a plackart to go with the brigandine, all the leather straps for the buckles and the point holes for the plackart where put in after all the plates had been attached to the base garment.
To complete the all in one belligerence package i also made her this fighting axe and she has been happily hacking away with it ever since.
Lastly here is
thepussykat bevor this is also a first for me and what you see is the 3rd attempt, the first 2 just didn't have the correct shape to the main plate that protects the throat.
And i promisse i shall get a move on with your Wisby gauntlets because i want to see how they perform this summer.
