Not out of line for refusing, but I suspect that you misunderstood their intent. My best guess, and it's nothing more, is that the survey is an effort to prove that ethnicity is not used to determine which services are provided. If it becomes an issue, and maybe it already has, by having on hand a survey of reported ethnicity and the services actually provided, they can demonstrate that ethnicity is not an issue with them. I'm inclined to think that the survey is a good thing. Of course, I knew a few people who thought that literacy requirements assured an informed electorate.

I became less involved, I suppose, but not inactive exactly. It was nice timing that your post appeared when it did. I was sitting in front of the computer trying to compose something for the blog. The problem I have is not finding something to say but finding something brief to say. I spend most of my time deleting. I spruced up the blog template, not that you'd notice, and hope to post more often. I'm not pretending it will interest anyone, but it does feel good good sometimes to get rid of it. I had a similar experience to yours recently. The power company suggested I take Amie's name off the bill because the mail was sometimes returned. The postlady doesn't bother with the second name. Anyway, I said sure, let's do that. This week I called about account averaging, wondering if it would make any difference for me. I was told I don't qualify. Don't qualify? Why? Because, as a rather stern voice insisted, you've been a customer for less than one month! See? Everything comes out too long. Thanks for asking though. Glad to see that

I get annoyed at those questions too. Personally, I think that what my language preference is shouldnt matter... I live in America, I should speak English. But then I guess thats unreasonable. I do get annoyed that they ask you the same 12 questions every time you call, even if you just called 10 min ago and forgot something. Then when I tell them... nothing has changed, they say well we have to ask each time. I say and yes, I'm telling you nothing has changed. Isn't that an answer to ALL their questions? Couldn't they just then click all the little boxes and be done with it? ARGH...you got me started..sigh

Meanwhile, how are YOU? I haven't seen you around in forever. I was thinking about you the other day, wondering how life was treating you. :)
