idk, I like Hufflepuff better than anything else but the idea of houses working like that in practice is kind of horrifying even if it is relentlessly entertaining when applied to fiction

I like Hogwarts itself more than any of the characters in it

Is it sad that I'm totally there with you? The fire for HP fandom is guttering and small in me now, I can barely muster the interest to keep my FF subscriptions up to date.

Word on Hogwarts being a cooler concept than a reality in the books. I would totally play the crap out of a "Go to Hogwarts" game, so long as I was promised no canon characters would appear in it.

My favourite character is still Maggott ?? I am pretty sure there are not a lot of people who share that position with me

also I am really keen on Pixie but my main reason for being annoyed with how she is handled generally is that she is not Welsh enough. like that is my single biggest pet peeve about X-Men, ever.

the idea of new canon frightens me even though i am looking forward to children's crusade because "existing in a sort of mostly-unchanging limbo for years on end" is how I like my fandoms, apparently

i get more annoyed than is really necessary by people putting an emphasis on Teddy being a big guy when he's not green, and I probably would've liked it more if Heinberg had gone ahead with his original plans re: Teddy's gender

I think the gigantic scale of the dragons is unnecessary and was a poor choice on Naomi Novik's part

The whole thing where FOR EXAMPLE in China nobody does anything about it if a dragon kills someone who stole their stuff because WHAT DO YOU EXPECT and everyone treats that as reasonable but at the same time dragons are supposed to be equal to humans REALLY REALLY BOTHERS ME A LOT; if they are going to have the same rights as humans then they should have the same responsibilities they don't get to be special snowflakes when it comes to things like KILLING PEOPLE. Like, that specific example aside, it generally seems like the idea is that dragons should be treated completely equally except for how they should be given a free pass to behave irresponsibly because THEY'RE DRAGONS LOL! No! "Dragons are oppressed in other countries" is no excuse to go victim-blaming someone who has been MURDERED - and if a dragon genuinely can't be kept from murdering someone for a really petty reason then maybe they should be rethinking this
