interesting article about my boy, though… Part of the interest is in that I very seldom see people writing about him. Anyhoo, some things caught my eye and while I already sort of rambled in a Plurk about this, I figured it was worth expanding on ideas without the restriction of a 140 character limit.

BUT REALLY! I agree with you on plenty of things. You make very valid points. There are various other psychological disorders (and combinations of them) that could be very plausible. Heck, most people with disorders spend their whole lives being misdiagnosed. And considering there is no cure for things like MPD, you have to wonder if it's actually something else entirely. In general, it's interesting to think about what might be going on with your character, but at the same time, I like there being a bit of a mystery (especially so there's no retcon in the future!). Zee, obviously, has Daddy and abandonment issues (lol everyone dies on her man), but I don't like to think of it as her driving force.
I also dislike the idea of him doing it just because he likes power or money or revenge or fear. There's more to everything than just that, whether it be amongst various other things or just... because (though even then, I don't think Crane does it just because he "enjoys" it). but yes! I've just never felt comfortable attaching disorders to people because... well, I don't like to play psychologist (why do I play this character again...) and I think that it's a field that still has plenty of room for advancement. SO YEAH in that sense that's sort of... safeguarding myself against a retcon from real life. :Ia unless the day comes when comics have one set continuity and they say that Jon has MPD, but that will also be the day that Hell freezes over. continuity in comics. heh ( ... )
