I understand the fact that once Capcom finish making the same game 50 times over, the last one is very refined. For example, Third Strike was much better than the other two SFIII versions that they released. But that still doesn't matter anymore. Street Fighter is dead.
If they want to revive the series, they can go for it.
KoF keeps getting better and newer every year, with more colourful characters and better storylines, all capcom does is release the same old shit on newer consoles.
Who the hell fucking wants Super Street Fighter II on xbox360 when they have it on PS2, Saturn, PSX, Dreamcast, Gameboy Advance, SNES, Megadrive, SegaCD, PC and whatever other console they brought it out on.
Street Fighter is a very dead series. NO new game has been released for at least the late 90's. Capcom Fighting Jam/Evolution was an eyesaw and a pathetic attempt at whatever they were trying to achieve.
Grumpy! Street Fighter 2 on the Xbox 360 is excellent. Three reasons:
1) Online play and ranked leaderboards. 2) Achievements encourage me to keep playing. I will get that blasted achievement for finishing the game flawlessly! 3) It's Street Fighter 2, and it's still one of the best games ever made; and you don't need to pull an ancient console out of your cupboard to play it.
I don't really get your argument, nor why you think they need to resurrect the franchise. It's a testament to SF2's quality that people are still playing it and still willing to fork out for it today.
It's more of a statement, actually. Sure, it could be considered a threat, but a threat implies that the other person has something to lose by a failure to comply. I'm sure that Fang cares little if I talk to him again.
As for the Capcom fanboys thing: I guess you wouldn't really know that I can't stand people like the SRK lot. I'm not opposed to learning the ins and outs of fighting games, but at the end of the day I do just like to play for fun. I'd rather have a close match against some friends while laughing that take something to serious and get worked up about it. The same thing applies with console fanboys; why not just enjoy all the systems?
I digress; what I mean to say is that basically I enjoy all fighting games, with the exception of Rise of the Robots. Even Ballz, seriously. The only reason I mentioned the whole greater than thing was to tease you. I'm sorry it touched such a raw nerve.
