howdy! well, just pluggin' along here. still in boulder. march is s'posed to be the "snowiest" month of the year but we have only received our 1st march snowfall today. i guess having snow on the ground for 2.5 months this winter makes up for that, however. i've been lurking on LJ, just not posting to my journal. how're you?
sounds like you've got a number of things to focus on, surviving being at the top of the list. i'll try to email you but i'm such a holey-moley-swiss-cheese brained gal who is on a medication that creates brainfog that i can't be relied on there. as you can tell, i only just got back to your reply & it's been over a month.
Oh dear, tell me all about the brain...does not sound good. I saw a show about the effects of ecstasy on the brain and it scared the crap outta me. Not that either of us have taken ecstasy of course. I'm just saying, it's weird what some things can do to the brain.
i wish i could share pics & not haveorodwenMay 3 2007, 00:22:23 UTC
my ever-so-dear-and-somewhat-hyper-vigilant husband have a conniption. there certainly appears to be traumatic brain injury & possibly a couple other things but i'm waiting to find out what insurance will cover before i go any further w/ this.
heck, even mildew can cause brain injury & even minor head trauma can cause damage to very crucial areas of the brain (temporal lobes are susceptible, for example, but just about any part can be damaged.)
from what i gather, the mistake that ecstasy users make is that they think it's the drug that's causing them to feel that way when it's in fact their serotonin levels & after taking mdma your serotonin is used up, more or less. some folks think if they take more they'll get that feeling again but they can't simply because of the depletion of serotonin. after that the dopamine & mao move in & the mao breaks down the dopamine into hydrogen peroxide(!)
