And so a rundown of school.

Hmm. First of all, I was immensely pleased when I received a return email from Pollard a day or two before school started telling me classes for those of us with a fall contract didn't start till the 27th. With the stress of starting the first week and thinking I had karate to go to on weds, the first day back, I thought I would die.

And so weds came. And although I got off the bus with over 10 minutes to spare, I spent ten minutes walking in a circle and through Gardner hall trying to find room 2213 or such. Like, I went into Gardner and it was the annex, which was 2500. Went down, out, and into the next building over, and that was 2400. And then I kept going right and 2300. And I kept going and Whoa--new building not Gardner. No, I had to go back and around to find 2200. And there was no building map. Ooooy. I got in like right as the class started.

The class was Criminology. Like any soc class, I don't think it's going to be horrendously difficult, if anything, it'll be the opposite. They require a term paper that's like...4-5 pages. And that shouldn't be too hard at all. No, my biggest problem is that the teacher is incredibly soft-spoken (her voice just doesn't carry well) and the room isn't advanced enough to have a mic. I think I'd do best to sit in the first three rows or something oy.

Right after I've to trek to central campus for fitness walking. The instructor amuses me but the endurance tests will probably kill me. I'll probably take it for credit only and just worry about passing rather than getting a high enough grade so that my GPA won't drop. I had to buy some sneakers too (since I don't own any; gave kit my other pair) and will have to rent a uniform. Hopefully this won't be too bad but it's on the same days I have karate, so I'm sure I'll be sore for a while.

Afterwards, I have a break for a bit, then Spanish. I already knew how this was going to be to a degree because it's the same for 101 and 102. We've to cover 6 chapters, a test for each, I think, and a cumulative exam, lots of online homework (from a program I can't stand) and there are quizzes and oral assessments. Load of crap, but oh well. Teacher is nice, though she's got a heavy accent.

Thursdays I have the dinosaur class, which they claim is harder than most 100 level sciences. Joy. Daily quizzes too. Wtf. I've not got much of an opinion on it yet.

Edit: Forgot to mention. The woman talks incredibly fast. I'm going to have to take my laptop because I really can't keep up. No one else can too it seems but she doesn't seem to be capable of slowing down.

Another break, and then I have Ant theory. taught not by who usually teaches it. And it comes with a 10 page min research paper. Joy. i thought I was getting out of these this semester. Hopefully it won't be that bad. But there's no one I know in the class that I actually like, so that's not too great. I miss having classes with Dyane.

And then lab. We weren't supposed to have lab on the first week, but we did anyway. And it was stupid. Fortunately it's nothing I've to dress out for or anything. And usually shouldn't last till 7:15, I'm hoping. I'm just glad it's only once a week.

Books were a little over 250, and that's because I already had a spanish book and all but the ant theory were used. But yeah so far I've not been impressed with classes. Here's hoping that'll change.

Roommates aren't bad though. Kit and I get along well, Stacey's pretty cool and Amanda's nice, but she's got a very controlling personality that I fear is going to clash badly with me at some point. Here's hoping otherwise.

And this entry has become scatterbrained because the first pirates movie is on and it is love and joyness.

I'll write an actual entry up later.
