That was fantastic. I haven't read football fic in a long time and it's been even longer since I've tried to comment on anything in any fandom, but this was so wonderfully done, I just adore it. (AND YOU!) I know you don't usually write this pairing (or at all) but you've managed to capture the bittersweet (haha, pun... partially intended) angle of their relationship while adding in all the right facts and details to set the story in real time. :D
