In terms of FFXII's graphics (although I just got my own copy on Christmas as well) I think their downfall was the fact that they went stylized with them. They tried to make them look 'painterly' like a digital painting but that in turn makes the graphics look a little less than top notch. The cutscenes don't seem to have this problem but the in game cutscenes and such do. Makes me a little dissapointed.

And apparently I can't spell this morning, sorry. :)
