Look, I'm avoiding my homework again!

My interview, from onlyemarie:

1. Are you nervous about getting married?

Not really. We are able to talk about pretty much anything, so though nearly 6 years of being together we have covered a lot of ground. It’s taken a lot for us to get to where we are, it meant overcoming a lot of fear, defensiveness, unrealistic expectations of how relationships are "supposed" to operate, etc. etc. I guess the process of working up to getting engaged was more nerve wracking than has been the anticipation of being married once we decided to take that step. Ask me this question again in like two months though and we will see if my answer is the same. :)

2. Why do you live in Portland?

Portland is beautiful, lush and verdantly green. Its smallish size and working-class roots give it a comparative lack of pretension. We are close to the ocean, the mountains, farmland (with an accompanying three weekly farmers’ markets during the growing season), orchards, vineyards, old-growth rain forests. I love all of the bridges, especially looking at them in the morning when the mist is rising up off the river. We have great public transportation, and people ride their bikes all the time. Really good coffee seems to be the norm and not the exception. Portland is also interesting because of its split personality-it is progressive, liberal, ecologically conscious, but it also has a hugely seedy underbelly.

3. What's a recipe I should make?

Baked apples, from the BH&G cook book

Place 4 cooking apples, cored with a strip peeled from the top in a 2 quart casserole. Mix together 1/2 cup chopped dried fruit (me, I’m fond of a cherry/apricot mixture), 2 T brown sugar, 1/2 t cinnamon, 1/4 t nutmeg and spoon it into the middle of the apples. Pour 1/3 c apple juice into the casserole dish, bake @ 350 for 40-45 min, basting occasionally. Serve warm with a little cream.

4. What's one ridiculous talent you wish you had?

Sleight of hand, but I’m too clumsy and obvious.

5. What's your dream job?

It changes on an almost daily basis. Right this second, it would be running something like the Internet Bookmobile.

...Okay, so anyone wants to be interviewed by me, just ask.
