OOC: This is open to anyone who is in Monaco. If more than one person tags in, it will be considered separate conversations.

Harry's first thought after arriving to the club house in Monaco is that it's a shame Kara didn't come with him. Oh, he understood why she didn't. Coco was still very young, and it's hard to travel away from her. Especially some place so far. This wasn't the right setting to bring a child either. But when he saw Justin Hammer talking with Christine Everheart, he couldn't help but think that Kara would love this. She's a pretty big fangirl of Hammer, and while Harry thinks Justin is the Wal-Mart version of Stark, he is willing to admit that Hammer has been nice to his wife. That counts more to him than the fact Hammer is a tool.

Before the race, he spends a little time making his rounds. Talking to some people he hasn't seen in years. How long has it been since he last visited Monaco? He can't even remember. Kara had been right though. He needed this. This break away from Gotham and all of the stuff going on there. This is a welcome release.

He chats up Pepper and Tony, and meets Tony's new assistant, Natalie. One thing he'll give Tony props for is that he has excellent taste in beautiful redheads.

Drinks are flowing, the party is going well, and the race will soon be starting. Everything seems to be fine. Then there is whispers that turn a bit louder than whispers as it becomes clear Tony Stark has walked on to the race track. Harry's in the middle of a conversation with an old acquaintance from his boarding school days when he sees Tony's driver walk off furiously, and Tony climbs into the car.

Oh shit.

They'd test drove the cars he was thinking of sending to Monaco when he visited Tony in New York, but not once did Tony give any indication that he planned to actually race. Harry gets another scotch. He's about to head over to see if Pepper is alright, but she's racing out behind Happy Hogan. So he stays at the bar, watching as the drama unfolds.

The guy on the track with the whips makes Harry feel sick. There is more than one close call as the guy moves closer and closer to Tony. Then there's Pepper screaming, and Harry feels powerless to be able to help them. It's not like he can do anything besides get in the way. His heart is leaping into his chest as the glass windshield explodes and Pepper's screaming again.

Fuck.

Then Tony has some portable version of his suit on, and they fight. The guy with the whips is taunting and there seems to be pure rage coming off Tony in waves. Harry's feeling pretty pissed off too. He's pissed at the guy who causes the crashes on the tracks. The guy who is attacking anyone and anything that gets in his way as he comes after Tony.

He's pissed at Tony. How can he be so fucking reckless? It was dangerous enough to get behind the wheel and try to race with professionals. The drivers spend months preparing for these races. He doesn't get what would possess Tony to think it was alright to tell his driver to leave so he could do it. He's pissed that Tony's in danger. He's so tired and fed up with the people he cares about being in danger. He's pissed that Pepper is still stuck in that car in the line of fire.

When everything is said and done, the ambulances arrive to take care of the drivers who were injured, or worse, the ones who didn't survive. The police arrive to haul the crazy guy with the whips away. Harry heads straight up to Tony's suite and waits for them to arrive. Tony's got injuries, but he can't be reasoned with right now. He checks Pepper over physically and then disappears into the shower. To Harry's disbelief, when he comes out, he leaves again. He leaves without Happy or asking anyone else to come with him.

Natalie says she's going to check on the status of the doctor. So Harry sits down next to Pepper, handing her a glass of red wine, and tries to think of something comforting to say. She looks so shaken that his anger makes him want to go after Tony and ask him if he sustained some serious head injuries out there. How can he leave right now?

"What can I do?" He finally asks Pepper. Maybe she can clue him in, because right now he is at a loss. He'll stay with her until Tony arrives, and then he'll speak with Tony. Because seriously, what the fuck was that?
