not permanently settle in nyc? i think everyone thinks that until they live here and it kind of becomes a part of your existence and its hard to imagine being elsewhere for an extended period. the conveniences far outnumber the expense and the hardships. maybe after time it gets to be too much but even in the most difficult times the extremes kinda balance each other.
