They're all gathered around the table in Akira's new bedroom. It's been three weeks since Shuuji and Akira transferred, and this is Nobuta's first visit. It's Akira's idea that they practice kissing, and for some reason Shuuji goes along with it, telling Nobuta it'll be good for when she starts dating. She just smiles (she does that a lot now) and looks slightly terrified.
"Akira and I will go first, don't worry," Shuuji finds himself saying. He may be going crazy.
He doesn't have much time to ponder this, though, since Akira dives right in. He kisses messily, with too much tongue and teeth and his hands fisted in Shuuji's hair just a little too tight. They're both panting when they break away, and Nobuta looks even more frightened. Shuuji blushes.
"Uh, well. With you it'll be less..." Shuuji can't find the word. He thinks maybe it's "hot". He settles for "...intense."
Nobuta nods slowly, waiting to see which one of them will kiss her first. Akira appears frozen to the floor, Shuuji notices, so he leans in, brushes his lips against Nobuta's softly, slowly, waiting for her to respond. She does, quicker than Shuuji would have expected, but pulls away before he can start to wonder if she's done this before. (She has, with Mariko, last week, but she's not telling them that.)
Shuuji looks over at Akira as soon as they break the kiss, checking to see if he has exploded or anything. He hasn't, but his face is contorted into an odd mix of jealousy and interest. Shuuji wonders which of them Akira's jealous of.
Nobuta looks far less horror-stricken now, and she turns expectantly to Akira, who looks at her, twitches, and doesn't move. She stares at him for a moment before leaning in. Shuuji watches Akira's eyes go wide as Nobuta kisses him: Akira keeps his eyes open the whole time. Nobuta pulls away eventually, and Akira makes a strange gurgling noise and falls over.
Shuuji would be jealous if Akira hadn't done the same thing the first time they'd kissed.
