Ah, I'm so happy you're doing that. I think working on farms/gardens totally transformed the way I relate to my body/the world in general. I took a permaculture workshop a few months ago-- very cool stuff! Where are you located?

Also, she has a bookstore on the farm? Crap, she stole my idea.

I'm WWOOF'ing this summer (http://www.wwoof.org/), on a gorgeous Virginia ex-plantation/now-farm. There are five androgynously barefoot children, and they sort of run around gathering mushrooms and berrypicking. In my free time, just a lot of work on my thesis.. :/

It's good to hear from you! I knew livejournal was good for something.

We're in western mass, northwest of northampton. Actually the bookstore is about 20 minutes away in Shelburne Falls (boswellsbooks.com), but that's a wicked cool idea. The farm is actually going to be turned into a retreat and conference center as well as a working permaculture farm. Sarah's been giving me heaps of stuff to read on it and its all been super facinating.

I almost did the WWOOF thing too this summer but i may push it back to the fall when i have some farm experience. It seems like an awesome way to travel and do some good in the world. The farm you're staying at sounds amazing. What's your thesis on?

Im glad to hear from you too. we should make an effort to talk more :)
