Gakuto's a direct sort of person, and he's always struck me as being a bit insecure... and really, Oshitari's quite a catch. So no matter how much Gakuto assures himself that he's fantastic as a person, he knows that there are any number of other people Oshitari could've picked. When he wonders aloud why he picked Yuushi, he's actually indirectly also asking himself why Oshitari picked him, Gakuto.

Aww, Gakuto shouldn't care what other people think Yuushi's way smarter than them anyway. Nice job, you dug into Gakuto's feelings in a short bit of dialog while still keeping him in character.

Oh, now I want crepes and ice cream.

Thank you! On the surface, I think Gakuto's impulsive, hot-tempered, sharp-tongued, and so on... but there are moments when he's probably introspective, and I think only Yuushi gets to see that.
