Uh, hi, you don't know me but my name is Seth Cohen and I came in today and inquired into securing a job and I was told to locate you. Or, you know, talk to you. So, anyway, I was wondering if there were openings at the Bluelight. I can do anything, really - I uh, haven't done the waiting before but I can pick anything up within time and uh, yeah. Seth Cohen is - my name. Thanks and have a good day.
[ Stefan's a little bit bored with the not doing anything thing and making sure his brother doesn't kill anyone. And the Bluelight's close. So, he wanders in and sits at the bar. He gives a good look around. Huh. This wouldn't be a bad place to work... ]
[Peter, though he could work the bar if he had to, does not have to tonight. Someone else actually scheduled is on duty, but Peter is making a sweep through the Blue Light anyway as he is wont to doing from time to time, jotting notes in a notepad because it's a lot less obvious than a clipboard -- or so he decided a month or two ago -- and absently pushing in chairs where chairs need to be pushed in. He doesn't notice Stefan at first because, well, it's a bar. Of course there are people. If anyone does want to speak to him though he's rather plainly available, just filtering through the tables and booths with the air of the word Supervisor stamped all over his breathing space.]
[ That person does look like he works here. And he needs money. And he needs to work around people. He is not a fan of the ticking. Sliding off the chair, he more or less appears behind Peter quietly. ]
[ There is a nerve that goes off in Peter but it's not especially visible. He's not a fan of being snuck up on -- understatement, -- but all he does is glance over his shoulder at first, followed by turning to face the other man fully. ]
[ This tiny, golden box with a twist of red ribbon had been left on Peter’s desk some time before Christmas. It sits on top of a folded bit of parchment where Ginny’s penned a note in quill and ink that reads:
Peter,
It’s been quite a year. I hardly know where to begin, so let’s stay with what I know for certain: I’m so glad to have you as a friend here. Words can’t quite do it justice, and a few months ago, I thought I’d lost another friend - brother, really - to this place. When you came back, I went out and got this for you, but I needed a bit of time to work on it and make it right.
It’s not much. I mean, it doesn’t offer much in the way of warmth or light, but I hope it’s a reminder for you. Of being brave, and being alive, and of being good. That’s what they symbolise, anyway.
In a silly sort of way, I hope it reminds you of me, too. If only because I’m that stubborn ginger witch who you won’t quite be rid of, no matter what happens. Have a Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year, Peter. And thank you.
[Out of everyone she's leaving these messages for, the eldest Pevensie will understand the most.]
I didn't want to tell you this during the picnic because, well... it's Christmas. It's still a holiday now, I do know that, but you were talking to someone I... [Pause, then a sigh.] Peter, there are people in the City, new arrivals from my world. They're on the other side of my war. Tom Riddle and Bellatrix Lestrange are dangerous, and I just...
Please be careful around them. You know what I have to go back home to, you're one of the only ones who really knows, and I don't want anyone here to get tangled up in it, least of all my friends. Don't mention me to them, if you can. I'm sorry to leave this for you before the New Year, but I don't want anything to happen if I can stop it. You understand.
[Don't you? Ginny pauses, uncertain where to end this, then... does.]
Tell your family and Caspian too, to be safe. Thank you. I'm sorry. Thank you.
