I have LJ and Facebook somewhat tied together. If I post a public post on my LJ, Facebook can grab it from the XML feed and post it there, too.

I am not entirely convinced that I want this behaviour, although I have considered it.

It's odd. I'm not 100% sold on it honestly. The first time you set it up it barfs all over facebook (it pulls the 30 most recent entries or something, but it at least has the decency to sort them chronologically). After that it's a mixed bag. I use Friends Only posts a bit which can keep things I don't care for the Facebook crowds of olden times to see, but some of the times I use LJ for really really really really random posts. So yeah. It's a mixed bag. Probably more useful for someone who does some heavy duty blogging on LJ and wants to propogate it around the net.

I've been getting a lot of pressure from the Borg facebook friends and family to join up.

You'd probably enjoy it. In my experience it seems like it's some strange bastard child of twitter and myspace
