I really love my job. And they love me. Friday, I went in at 7 and Enrique (one of the managers) said he was going to teach me how to do full maintenance on the birds. Full maintenance is just cleaning everything in the animal's habitat once a week. Scrubbing the bowls, usually taking the animal out and scrubbing the cages. Enrique did the same ( Read more... )

i totally have this vision of you standing with your arms open wide with the animals of the store just flocking to you (a la 'ace ventura' - wow, why do i remember that?)... HA! :)

Probably because it was a pretty awesome movie. At least, an awesome movie to turn your brain off and just watch. I would totally love it if the animals actually all did that though.

someday i'm going to have to bore you to death with my pictures from the "zoo" i worked at for 2 summers (it was a little area off the side of a small amusement park in my hometown). it was, and remains to be to this day, the best job i've ever had in my life.

It's pretty awesome. PQR is still better in person though. I think it's the facial expressions. But it's still *really* hot on CD.

I should hear back from them in a couple weeks. They're still interviewing a bunch of people. I'm also thinking about applying at a zoo nearby. I might stand a better chance, since that's where most of my experience lies(with mammals and raptors). I'll definitely let you know when I hear something from them though.
