But I mean compared to other worlds, too. Like, I'm pretty sure we don't have shinigami or people turning into guns. At least, not that I know of.

The only real magic I know of is what Maya and Pearl can do, the spirit channel thing, though I've never seen it, and also what Polly, daddy, and I can do, which is just being good at knowing when someone is lying.

I'm not even sure the second one counts, but it seems kind of magical.

Pretty much all humans live in villages underground. When I grew up, most people didn't even believe the surface existed; my aniki was the only person who'd seen it.

Later, we got to the surface, and found out that's where beastmen live, and their job is to fight humans. They have giant gunmen that they use to kill any humans they find on the surface, although I don't know why.

But I found Lagann, a gunman of my own, and a bunch of us stole gunmen and a giant ship. So we're definitely fighting back; the surface is a much better place for humans to live!

Humans underground. You are right, it seems no place for people to live.

There's definitely different worlds out there. I've been to some of them before ending up in this place.

My world doesn't have a lot of the stuff from around here, but I saw some of it in some of the places we've traveled to. Nihon also had demons that I have yet to have seen here and they don't sound like the same kinds other people have talked about around here either.

You say that you have traveled several different worlds? How so?

You seen the white bouncing meat bun that talks and teaches at the school? It can take people between worlds, though it hasn't been able to in this place yet... A group of us traveled with it to find a girl's memories that had been scattered across different dimensions.
