Palm Pilot and Linux

Has anyone gotten a USB palm to sync under Linux?  I managed to do it once earlier today, and it wouldn't do it again.  I can't figure out what's wrong.  There is an astonishing lack of documentation on gnome-pilot ( Read more... )

It's possible. Check out http://www.pilot-link.org/. It has the latest sync software and FAQs and how-tos.

For me, getting ttyUSB1 to show up was the hard part, but that was pretty early on in terms of USB palm devices. I never tried using gpilotd, so I can't address that. Being a CLI kind of guy, I use pilot-link, setting PILOTPORT to /dev/ttyUSB1, hitting the sync button and running pilot-xfer before the sync times out. It might be relatively clunky, but it does work for me. FWIW, I'm running 0.12.0_pre4, but I think that was mostly in a failed attempt to convert voice memos from .pdb to .wav, not for the USB bits.
