I've been meaning to do a review of the things I really like about Fedora Core 6. This will be pretty confusing to people who don't use Unix.

Hi Sam :)

udev was introduced as a replacement for the devfs (in kernel vs userspace) of the 2.5 development Linux kernels and is not specific to Fedora Core. It is of course a standard part of the 2.6 kernels and it can be found in other kernels as well (FreeBSD), more info:
