Laptop

So, I need to be able to write and do web stuff at a place that is not my work and not my home.  This means I need a laptop.  I'd like something cheap (small hundreds), durable (this should ideally go most everywhere in my backpack), smallish and lightish (see backpack note).  It needs to be able to run ssh, a browser and something that could edit

We've a few of the Asus ones running Linux around here and they seem pretty decent.

Have you gotten your hands on one of the Dells?

Have you considered an eee? You'll need to try it on for size to make sure that they keyboard suits you. It comes with some sort of linux (and will accept other distros) and is *very* light and small).
