I've gotten a lot of requests to record Zane's stories, since he chatters off little bits of plot a lot, and often during movies he'll suggest alternate plotlines, heroes from a different movie or game who should dive in and save the day or things like that.
Here's an early thing that Zane came up with while going over a map of Middle Earth, which was briefly part of his bedtime ritual. This was about the third or fourth time I described the map at bedtime. I'd point out things, like Moria, the Shire, Minus Tirith, Barud Dur, Mirkwood. By this time, Zane remembered them and pointed many of them out himself. He started with this:
Zane: (Points at a spot in Gondor between Osgiliath and the Black Gate) Dutin lives here. He's a baby dragon. He's good. He helps people.
Me: What else does he do?
Zane: Gorm is his father. Gorm is a bad dragon.
Me: There's a dragon named Smaug who lived here (points at Lonely Mountain)
Zane: Smaug used to live here (points at mountains north of the Shire) but Gorm scared him away.
Me: What did Dutin do?
Zane: Dutin stayed away. Gorm is scary.
Me: What happened to the dragons?
Zane: They all got scared away by iguanas here.
Me: What kind of iguanas are they?
Zane: Scaaary iguanas.
I've asked him about Dutin since then, and Zane's described him as a boy with a magic wand that shoots fire who's called Fire Dutin. He might be the only character Zane's made up entirely. He talks, sometimes about Septagon, who's a villain who lives on a space ship, wears an X on his wrist and fights dinosaurs. However, I'm pretty sure Septagon started when Zane heard schoolmates talk about Decepticons.
