Asuna Kagurazaka / Asuna Vesperina Theotanasia Entheofushia
Asuna Kagurazaka is from Mahou Sensei Negima manga, an ordinary high school student from Mahora Academy. She's an orphan living off the charity of the school dean, something Asuna's very aware of. She attempts to pay the school and the dean back with her meager earnings as a newspaper delivery girl and would probably jump at any opportunity to make money.
She has a long standing crush on her guardian and former homeroom teacher, Takahata. Its canon that she has a thing for older men… so if you're an older guy and her teacher there's a great chance Asuna will crush on you but her crush on Takahata will trump everything since she's been crushing on him for a decade.
She's also artistic, her paintings were good enough to be displayed in a gallery although most of her paintings are about… Takahata. Yes, Asuna is not very good with the concept of 'subtlety'.
She's very straightforward, earnest and a little clumsy and, unfortunately, not academically smart. In fact, in class she's constantly in the bottom five and is affectionately known as Baka Ranger Red (Dummy Ranger Red) of the Baka Rangers (Dummy Rangers). But she is very good in athletics. She's also not into angsting, Asuna prefers actions than to moping and people attempting to scare her away with their scary reputations are often frustrated. Asuna works on a basic philosophy: Everyone deserves to be happy.
Asuna's life seemed pretty straight forward with the exception of her physical abilities, her choice in hair ornaments (bells) and her hetechromatic eyes (one green eye, one blue eye) and her cute little fangs she really seems to be normal. Okay, it's not that normal but she had a normal life. Her normal life goes straight to hell when Asuna meets Negi Springfield, the genius 10 year old teacher and soon-to-be roommate who also happens to be a mage.
After Asuna learns about magic her normal life is shot to hell. She begins to have strange dreams that hints several things: she isn't as as ordinary as she thinks she is, she might be older than she looks and her memory was tampered with (there are hints that one of the reasons why she's suffering from low grades is because of this).
The truth is, plain ol' Asuna Kagurazaka is in fact Asuna Vesperina Theotanasia Entheofushia also known as the Princess of Twilight. Asuna was a princess from the Kingdom of Vespertatia, the 'cradle of civilization' of Mundus Magicus (Magic World). Asuna played a big part in the Schismastic War that happened in the Magic World more than 20 years past.
Abilities
Asuna has super strength (think Spiderman strong), super hearing and vision but not to the same 'super' as Superman's abilities just enough to make her see and hear things from very far away.
Asuna formed a Pactio, a temporary mage contract, with Negi and she became his Magistra Magi (an attendant/partner who's duty it is to protect the mage). Because of this Pactio Asuna gains a card which can turn into a weapon, the Sword of Exorcism otherwise known as a Big Damn Sword.
Or, it was supposed to be a Big Damn Sword but somehow it initially manifests as a long metal fan (harisen). In its BDS form it can dispel magic and demons and cleave rocks like butter as a harisen it can still unsummon demons.
Asuna is undergoing sword training with Setsuna Sakurazaki, a talented half-demon swordswoman but she has still a long way to go before she can even dream of going toe-to-toe with the more experienced sword fighters.
The ability to use both magic and chi, its uses are still not that clear but one of its uses is to power up the user making them stronger and faster than they were before.
This is actually the ability that makes Asuna Speshul. Asuna has the inherent ability to cancel magic. Defensive and Offensive magics don't work against Asuna. Magic potions barely work on her and just enough that she'll feel side effects (she once ate a chocolate laced with a magical love potion and developed a small crush on someone she'd normally wouldn't be attracted to. Another person ate the same chocolate and was jumping and declaring love to the first person she saw) but once she figures out she's ingested a magical potion it'll stop having an affect on her. And once, a long time ago, when she had full power and control over her Magic Cancel she almost ended the Magic World but was sealed before that happened and 'only' managed to destroy a few floating continents.
She's forgotten all about that though and as she's coming into Fandom she's only just learned that she has Magic Cancel. This means that her Magic Cancel will kick in unconsciously and that often means any transportation that's magically powered will start malfunctioning if Asuna's on it. So, if she's on a magic carpet with you expect to crash, although you'll have sufficient warning before that happens. Oh, and if someone casts magic on her it won't work and she's caught unprepared her anti-magic will deflect the attack and... her clothes will disintegrate or get blown away.
Yep, you read that right. If magic is used on her she'll suddenly become nekkid.
There are some exceptions, if Asuna knows the magic isn't harming her the magic spell/potion will work.
Also, if magic is on a fixed place and she's not aware of it like, say, time loops she'll still be affected meaning Asuna is not immune from Fandom hijinx!
Of course, IG, Asuna's anti-magic can't always work you can just nudge me if Asuna's Magic Cancel shouldn't work on your characters powers! Or just sign-up below!
