Dear Rachel from Cardholder Services: GO AWAY

Feb 02, 2009 13:50

Hi, this is Rachel from Cardholder Services...

I hate phone spam.

I'm not the only one. (obviouslyI manage to avoid most junk calls because my phone number is unlisted. These obnoxious dialers are pretty much the only thing that turns up my phone, and they inevitably phone while I'm busy working from home. I really hate interruptions during my ( Read more... )

Trust me friend, you are NOT the only one sick of this scam. Lately, you aren't even allowed a chance to remove your number. I have pressed that "remove my number" option at least 4 or 5 times and I still get repeat calls from a variety of numbers they are using. I went ahead and filed a report with my state Attorney General's office, but it's doubtful that will help stop the calling. The day I after I did that, wouldn't you know....I got another call! This time, from another number (I have been blocking them out, but they keep coming), so this time I pressed the numbers till I could get someone and it was obvious the connection was from a cell phone. As usual, the "rep" had a thick accent and it was obvious English was not her first language. I politely told her to remove my number, once and for all and that I had filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office. I doubt it did any good because she hung up on me. I spoke with a coworker of mine who said they had read these scams involve a centralized computer placing the calls, ( ... )

Yep, I got hung up on too. I tried to call back to see if I could get someone else and I was on hold for 5 min before I gave up. At least the hold muzak was interesting.

Some experiences with Rachel anonymous June 22 2009, 14:29:40 UTC
I have been receiving the Rachel calls for some months now. Eventually, after I responded 9 enough times, I was able to get an agent to disclose a call back number of 877-debtok2 and the company name as DHC Financial Services out of Florida, website http://dhcfinancial.com/ . He stated that DHC Financial might charge me $2,000 to help me get my credit straightened out. I did some research at sunbiz.org and found that DHC Financial Services LLC was incorporated in Florida on 4/1/9 by Michael S. Finn, along with EVOCON, a marketing company. Mr. Finn's appears to have made his living marketing Florida real estate. I am wondering if Rachel is Mr. Finn's attempt at gorilla marketing.

I called 877-debtok2 this morning after receiving yet another call from "Cardholder Services." I confirmed I was speaking with someone from "Cardholder Services" yep same people that called me this morning, Saturday and last Friday. I've asked to be taken off their call list before. They never comply. So, long story short, I kept the guy on the phone for 10 minutes with bogus information then proclaimed, "I've just wasted 10 minutes of your time, now will you stop calling my house." Then I hung up on him. It won't stop the calls, but it made me feel good and I plan on using the same techniques for future calls along with a whistle and other annoying devices just for fun. So, "Cardholder Services" keep calling, I'm looking forward to it!

That is what I do, we need to make it a national movement. Here is a facebook page devoted to "Our cause" http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cardholder-Services-oh-how-we-loathe-you/199324923417215?sk=wall

I'm on the National Do Not Call Registry. I think the
company should be shut down as an example. I receive calls
from "Rachel" every couple of weeks. Several times, I
asked to be removed from their list, and was told I was.
The calls continue. Now, when I ask for contact information,
they simply hang up on me. What use is a National Do Not
Call registry if there's no way to identify who's calling
illegally?

Master scam dialer services provide the auto robo-dialer services.

Point to technology instantly sends the calls to phone rooms who pay these scum bags millions a month to invade our privacy with these pain in the ass calls.

See Ripoffreport for similar scams.

The FTC will act if enough complain but start with State AG offices.

i.e. DHC Financial 877-debt ok2 877-362-8652.

Great News! I found someone who tells me they can stop Rachel from calling me. Read as follows:
Dear Mr. XXXX,

I am in receipt of your e-mail below that you sent to Lightyear Network Solutions, LLC (“Lightyear”) regarding the harassing phone calls you have been receiving from 877-332-8652 (877-debtok2). This number does belong to a customer of Lightyear. However, before I contact them about these harassing calls, I will need to know your phone number that is receiving these calls so I can get them to remove it from their predictive dialer. Would you please provide me with this information.

Sincerely,
Linda Hunt

Cardholder Services made terroristic threat (probable felony) anonymous July 9 2009, 22:25:00 UTC
I have been harassed repeatedly by Cardholder Services in violation of Do Not Call. Today, I read the woman at the other end off (but no threats other than reporting them to law enforcement and for violating Do Not Call) in the hope that they might stop. A few minutes later, a man called me back and began to read me off for trash-talking "his girl." I told him that, as they were making harassing phone calls I would speak to her and to him in any manner I chose. At some point in this heated exchange, he said, "I am going to send somebody to your house to kill you." I replied, "You have just committed a felony," at which point he hung up.

My husband and I received one of these infamous calls today (just the most recent in a series of hundreds at least). My husband started off being very polite then the guy on the phone (who was being so loud I could hear every word) started cursing out my husband, and when that didn't seem to bother my husband enough he started referring to my husband as "sweetie" and "honey" so of course my husband went off on him and demanded to speak to a manager. the guy passed the phone off to some random chick who told my husband to "lick her pussy." Now normally I don't get involved with the bs telemarketers but that is crossing the line. The next time they call back I'm going to deal with them, with a foghorn.
