Remember my post about Carleton CS researchWell, the school paper interviewed me yesterday. Not sure that it'll be terrific. I hate to tell you, but those kinds of interviews take place on a regular basis at the "professional" level, too. Reporters often are too lazy or don't have/make the time to do research, so they wind up asking seriously rudimentary questions that are easily answered by looking at the website, their questions are too broad and they don't realize why what they're asking is essentially impossible to answer, or they try to create a story out of nothing that's been addressed to death and beyond.

Not that I'm bitter. ;)

I guess I've been really lucky with the interviewers I've dealt with, or they put out good press releases about me or something, 'cause this was actually an aberration for me!

Usually the interview goes swimmingly and the final article/tv piece/etc is dubious, so I'm hoping this time it was a dubious interview but will be a great story. ;)

Hah! "So, we interviewed this "Terri person" on the subject of some pretty complex technical information, but as she's a girl and therefore lacking in a penis, we're pretty sure someone was feeding her the answers through some kind of miniature microphone. Quite honestly, we're amazed she even knows what a compooter and the interwebs are all about, what with having boobs and all -- and she didn't even show them to us. What the hell!?"

Heh. Actually, I think they're going to get my gender wrong, as they never actually asked!
