I think we need a Chuck Norris challenge. You must refer to Chuck Norris, or bring up a movie he's been in, or have him actually come crashing into the story somehow. What? Chuck Norris is always hilarious ( ... )

1. the books of the Bible

2. cross-over with Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time. Or any of her books.

3. How about a nice cryptic Emily Dickinson poem:

My Life had stood - a Loaded Gun -
In Corners - till a Day
The Owner passed - identified -
And carried Me away -

And now We roam in Sovereign Woods -
And now We hunt the Doe -
And every time I speak for Him -
The Mountains straight reply -

And do I smile, such cordial light
Upon the Valley glow -
It is as a Vesuvian face
Had let its pleasure through -

And when at Night - Our good Day done -
I guard My Master's Head -
'Tis better than the Eider-Duck's
Deep Pillow - to have shared -

To foe of His - I'm deadly foe -
None stir the second time -
On whom I lay a Yellow Eye -
Or an emphatic Thumb -

Though I than He - may longer live
He longer must - than I -
For I have but the power to kill,
Without--the power to die--

4. Any title of a Terry Pratchett novel

5. "The heart has its reasons, whereof reason knows nothing." Pascal

Jeans! yes, the denim pants that people wear. What? I can think of *loads* of story ideas involving jeans.

Un-birthdays, and other nonexistent/highly unlikely holidays

Mixed drink names (I am not in any way thinking of purple nurples here)

The lyrics to a musical number (such as "No One is Alone" from Into the Woods)

Like Sex on the Beach? (;

Wow. I like that idea. Can we pick our own? I see many possibilities here. Like "Some Enchanted Evening" from South Pacific, or "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" or "Not While I'm Around" from Sweeney Todd.

Or "I Like Your Style" from Barnum ("We're out of step / we disagree / what's right for you / is wrong for me / together we're apart a country mile / but I like your style / I like your style")

(Claps hands!) Perfect! Even if this isn't a prompt, I might write it anyway.

Poetry in languages other than English. (Old English not accepted, Latin okay.)

And I don't mind the wait, I was hoping to get a hedgehog thing done.

How about:

Ballade des dames de temps jadis

(Texte Original)

Dictes moy où, n'en quel pays,
Est Flora, la belle Rommaine,
Archipiada, ne Thaïs,
Qui fut sa cousine germaine;
Echo, parlant quand bruyt on maine
Dessus rivière ou sus estan,
Qui beaulté ot trop plus qu'humaine?
Mais ou sont les neiges d'antan?

Où est la très sage Helloïs,
Pour qui fut chastré, puis moyne
Pierre Esbaillart a Saint Denis?
Pour son amour ot cest essoyne.
Semblablement ou est la royne
Qui commanda que Buridan
Fust gecte en ung sac en Saine?
Mais ou sont les neiges d'antan?

La royne blanche comme lis,
Qui chantoit a voix de seraine;
Berte au grant pié, Bietris, Alis;
Haremburgis qui tint le Maine,
Et Jehanne, la bonne Lorraine,
Qu'Englois brulerent a Rouan;
Ou sont ilz, ou, Vierge souvraine?
Mais ou sont les neiges d'antan?

François Villon

Edited to take out the modern translation.
