"If cold," Teja says, starting to make his way down the hill, following the path Hilde has forged through the fresh snow. "Indeed, there are stars out, and a half-moon, and little wind. I think the weather might be favourable to that little celebrations the children are awaiting so eagerly, for then the season of feasts and little gifts will start."
Hilde has already reached the farm while Teja strides down the hill; and upon her return, a number of other children comes streaming out of the house and charges up the hill towards them.
"We are letting the boats swim tonight!" calls the foremost, who is Alaric, Adalgoth's son. He is eleven, sturdy, and energetic. "And friends have come over for it!" adds the next child, little Ursula, Hilde's next-older sister.

Cold isn't his favorite thing but it's familiar and he follows Teja down the hill.
