A helpful way to speed up the gettingoverthem process is to block them on your buddy list for a while. then you never see them, and never have to look at their name again.

Of course, I'm still in a similar situation from something that happened, like, two months ago. Gahh don't read their livejournals ever or their facebook profiles or be near the building they live in, let alone go inside it and try to have fun with your friends.
