Title: Rain and Funerals

Summary: Someone is dead.
Lee thinks it’s funny that it’s not raining. Now seems like an appropriate time, what with the coffin laid out, black and covered in flowers, and the clouds heavy and dark.
“He was a good man,” Neji murmurs.
“The best,” Tenten concurs.
They have said everything important, so instead of adding to their praise, he hugs them both to his chest. They don’t quite cry, but he can feel Tenten shaking in his arms. He buries his nose in their hair and Neji leans against him, just slightly.
The ceremony rolls on. No one casts them an accusatory glance which is a blessing in itself. They are left to grieve as they please, until the funeral is over and people begin to mill around. Some slip out now, some gather with a morbid curiosity around the casket.
But eventually the spectacle ends and everyone drifts away, a sea of black against the grey sky. As Lee releases his teammates, the sky finally bursts, drenching them in moments.
