When it all was new, they were jealous. They parted at the ends of the days angry but every morning they would return like clockwork because they are Team Gai and they are all they have.
Neji always hated the way Tenten and Lee could be together like they were perfectly innocent and unaware, like they were pure in an impure world.
Tenten always hated the way Lee and Neji could be together only when they wanted to be and never when anyone might cast an accusatory glance in their direction.
Lee figured out that this was a circle long before either of them and therefore didn’t hate anything about them except perhaps the way Tenten and Neji refused to see the truth of things even with the perfect eyesight they said they had.
He corners them one day and whispers that he wishes they would stop sharing and start loving. They part that night still angry, but less so then they were before. And Lee is happy that they have started to recognize the circle that they have always been.
