They are meeting for the first time and they hate each other. Tenten sits as far away from them as she can. Neji sulks because his team is filled with failures. Lee twiddles his thumbs and glances between his two teammates.
They are sure this is not going to work.

They are on their first real mission. Tenten unleashes a rain of weaponry. Neji dodges all those blades, losing a perfect strike. Lee stands stone still because he is terrified and something slices his arm open.
This really isn’t working.

They are being yelled at for the first time. Gai is not happy with them. Tenten flinches away, blushing because it sort of is her fault. Neji glares at him because he has done nothing wrong. Lee just grabs at his newly wrapped arm and hopes he’ll do better next time.
They agree they need to work together.

They are touching for the first time, each hand a guess, each kiss a question. Tenten tugs Neji’s hair a little too hard. Neji grunts into her mouth and pulls away for a moment. Lee sits on his heels and watches.
