What are good places to relocate in Charlotte?

I tend to favor East Charlotte, simply because it's where I've grown up, but NoDa is kind of neat. It hosts an artistically-driven community all its own. I guess also, it depends on your current price range. There are a lot of interesting spots, but in the end, it's all about what you can afford. Let me know if I can help.

I'm hanging out in Fort Mill but the transit system is horrible and I don't have a car. I think there's more jobs in Charlotte and it does have a transit system.

I would be looking for a room from 225 to 300 a month, plus utilities.

If that's the case, your best bet may be a room mate situation, really. Typically, I gather most places are 400.00 a month and up, with very few exceptions. But who knows? You could get lucky. It would be helpful if you knew someone in Charlotte, a friend or a friend of a friend you trusted who wouldn't mind rooming with you, but if you just need a roomie quick and aren't terribly particular, there's always craigslist.org under "housing". I'm sure there are other means, like meetup.com, or networking through facebook or Creative Loafing, perhaps even http://www.charlotte.com may have something you can use, but I hope this gets you started anyway.
