Are YOU A Mangaka?kairisangelJuly 11 2008, 20:53:51 UTC
Do you have to draw this stuff for a living? I want to know, because unless you do, you have no right whatsoever to insult the people who make it possible for you to even BE an Otaku. You either need to get a life, or learn to appreciate ALL works of art, whether they are or not. Now understand; I never said the storyline was good. But for GODDESSE'S SAKE, DON'T INSULT THE ART!!!!!

This is a review on my opinion of this American made comic. I never insulted the art. I said it wasn't the most original but I never insulted it. I respect being able to make a story, don't get me wrong. In my livejournal I like to review anime/manga. Both of ones I like and don't like. They're just personal opinions and nothing more. I'm sorry if this review came off "harsh" but it's how I personally see it. I think Aoi House had potential to be better then it was but it didn't quite live up to it and I am disappointed with it. I am sorry this review upset you so much but I am not insulting EVERYONE who does American manga. In my first review on it I even said that it's not everyone but it seems most of the stuff out there is generally the same a very childish. ( the stuff that's published anyway) And that's MY view on it.

People do have their right to have an opinion though. Not all comics and art can be seen as art. You can even ask the masters of our past from the Renaissance and they would gladly give their opinion on art they found worthy and unworthy. So by you just spewing what you have above, you are the one being closed minded. Art is and always will be critiqued. It isn't always fluffy bunnies. I myself am striving to be a comic artist and animator, thus I am going to school to broaden my horizons. And it is just that. You try new comics and art styles out to see if you like them. You can't honestly say you have never disliked someones work. And if you can, I'm sorry you are so disillusioned. All artwork should be critiqued. And not all artwork is GOOD or GREAT! I think you should get a life, or better yet learn what art and the world of art really is. Because it isn't easy and fun all the time.
