Re-reading Harry Potter

Like I have time to go reread HP right now, which is all I want to do after reading this! I half-remembered enough to sort of want to, and now I really want to. Especially about Scabbers, the sorting, Grindlewald, and Bathilda.

I've always been let down by aunt Petunia's sort of fading out though...for a while there, it really seemed like she might at least have a small breakdown or something. Oh well.

I agree. I always expected something more interesting to happen with Petunia. So much seemed to brim beneath the surface there. Sadly, that's one of the intriguing threads that JKR seemed to let go over the course of the series. I'm still convinced that she planned to do something and decided not to go there. I think that's my only problem with the seventh book. It reads, to me at least, like she dropped some of her plans (she did say at some point that it had been modified somewhat from her original notes - at least the ending) in favor of fan service. I always wonder.
