Alfred Anderson, the last survivor of the 1914 Christmas Truce has died. (cnn) For those who do not know, the Christmas Truce was a spontaneous ceasefire between German and British soldiers in the trenches December 24 and 25, 1914 during the early stages of World War I. The soldiers celebrated Christmas together before resuming hostilities. (Read more... )

I always thought this was one of the best stories to come out of WWI. It touched my heart. Sad that all the people who were there are gone now.
