Shit just got real :|
I'm trying not to get my hopes up at this point, but my application for the JET program survived the screening process. I have an interview at the Japanese Embassy in London in two weeks' time and... well I found out about three hours ago and I've not been able to sleep. I've been up for twenty hours now ._. But, yeah, I talked it over with my mother and my GOD the amount of things we have to take care of ahead of the interview ALONE is insane.
I need to come across well in person now. So the violet hair will have to go and be replaced by something a bit more seemly. I don't know what at this point, but I'm gonna get an appointment with my hairdresser and we'll figure something out. Possibly a new style as well - hence getting this appointment well in advance so I can figure out how to do it myself! I need to get a decent set of clothes for the interview (because the Primark jacket I wore for the Love Forever interview should never see the light of day again, and the pants I got for that are CLOWN size on me now :|) and basically cobble together a look that's vaguely corporate, and doesn't include a shirt that looks like someone's pinching my nipples. Because that's what I have hanging on the back of my bedroom door, waiting to go back to the shop :|
And crap, idk if I even have suitable shoes.
After that - aside from calling my boss, which will be the first step tomorrow morning - I need to get the exact time (through the post) and figure out how/when to get there. Train tickets will be needed and, in all likeliness, a hotel.
And then there's the interview itself, which I need to cram for. I figure Japanese language will take care of itself (I rated my skills as pretty low, but I reckon I'll be able to make myself understood) but I need to show an awareness of current affairs that doesn't include, "A lady in Saitama doused herself and her husband in petrol and set the both of them on fire and died," or, "A man in glasses bashed another guy's head in with a hammer and robbed his house." An idea of who is in government would be a good start :\
So. After Ron, my first port of call will be Wilkinson's, so I can get some ink cartridges for my printer so i can churn out my application and statement forms and run through them again >_<
TL;DR, I got my JET interview but I'm scared shitless :|
