It was late in the day by time Tatsuya awoke. Some minor noise had awoken him from the comfortable slumber he and Jun shared ( Read more... )

Katsuya shuts the door as quietly as he'd opened it, taking a good long look around the place he would, after the longest time gone, be calling home again. He sets down the small box of things he'd brought back from Baofu's apartment (including his apron and a fresh batch of cookies and dinner for the boys) somewhere out of the way on the floor and hangs up his jacket out of habit.

The apartment is a mess, but the bits of cleaning that had been done didn't escape his notice. He gives the smallest of smiles and wonders if they're home. He looks around the place once, wandering into his room with only the crunching of his shoes against the debris on the floor to give him away. It would take a lot of fixing, but it could be done.

Welcome home, Katsuya thinks to himself.

((FUCK ME. OKAY, fixed for real this time.))

Tatsuya had had plenty of sleep, and he could wake up and face the harsh light of...afternoon...if he really wanted to. Or he could stay put, and comfortably do nothing. After such a long freaking week, he was much more inclined to laze about that expend any more effort. Hey, even God needed a day off.

Tatsuys let his eyes close and he told himself to go back to sleep.

After looking around at every other room of the apartment, Katsuya finally decides to check and see if the boys are home. While most people would at least raise an eyebrow at such a sight that greets them (since Jun and Tatsuya appear to be dead asleep on top of each other), Katsuya's eyes simply shift to Tatsuya's bed, where a bunch of other things had been placed to be out of the way.

Well then. Everything makes sense to Katsuya. The bed is taken up by stuff, so they're sharing the floor. Perfect sense. He holds in a smile at the sight of them, glad to have his makeshift family back again.

He wanders on off to the kitchen again and starts reheating dinner. If Tatsuya was the only one around to make food, they'd be hungry.

With the sound made by the door opening Tatsuya can no longer convince himself that the source of what woke him up originally was something that could be ignored. Damn you, Katsuya!, he thought. The siren call of sleep was strong, but he figured it would be best to get up and talk to his brother before Jun was conscious again.

His eyes opened with reluctant fuzziness and Tatsuya gently pushed away from Jun, careful not to wake him. Damn, that had been so perfectly comfortable...and it was likely he wouldn't be able to indulge again. Hrf.

Getting dressed took a little longer than usual...where the heck was that shirt...yeah, that one, with the soccer logo on it...After five minutes, he stepped out casually without bothering to look at his hair in a mirror. (teehee)

"Mornin'," he mumbles, making his (annoyed) way to the kitchen and sitting down at the table.

"Well, when one usually is holding one of those..." Jun reaches over Tatsuya's shoulder and points at the cookie from behind his friend. "One usually eats it." He gives a half smile to Tatsuya to go with the almost teasing and pulls away, making his way over to Katsuya instead and asking the older man what he can do to help with the cleaning.

Jun's voice to Katsuya is still hesitant, but forced friendly. Jun was trying really hard to get over this, for everyone elses' sakes as much as his own. And Katsuya, in turn is doing his best not to say or do anything that will upset Jun. Everyone is stepping on eggshells, in some way.

Katsuya looks at his brother, and offers a nod. "We clean up and try to move on. There's still demons in Sumaru, probably always will be. But you two can take care of yourselves."

The teasing netted a wry smile. Tatsuya picking off some icing to make it less sweet, and did as Jun told him. Katsuya'd gone to all this trouble to bake them something tasty, after all... (Yeah, right.)

This looked very ... comfortable. Once looked upon with an outside eye, it didn't seem all that strange to have Jun and Katsuya helping each other do house work. It suited them both, and now that the burden Jun's capture had created was lifted from their hearts, it could be said that this was a new beginning.

However, Tatsuya knew well that the past could never be forgotten. As Katsuya spoke, he made a sound of ackowledgement. Demons were the least of his concern. He and Jun...would take care of each other.

...Oh alright, maybe they would take care of Katsuya too.

Jun hides behind his mask of a falsetto smile, a look that no one but those that really knew Jun could pick from a true smile; it does it's job of consoling Katsuya's worried glances. It was Jun that should be apologizing, for doing this to Katsuya and his home...for everything. But it would only cause more pain if he did. So, instead, Jun puts on an almost happy face and helps Katsuya as best as his weak state will allow.

He doesn't look at Tatsuya while he works, as though he knows that penetrating stare will be on him, forcing him to admit that he isn't as content as he's putting on. He does wander over after a little while though, hovering over Tatsuya's chair with a pot of tea in one hand.

"D'you want some more, Tatsuya?" How Jun manages to avoid eye contact while doing this is amazing, but he does, for now.
