The cello was taken to
Claire Givens in Minneapolis and estimated to be a complete loss. A neck graft would be required and it seems that those are very expensive. So insurance should cover the full assessed value of the cello, and I can put the money to work in getting a new instrument.

Yesterday was Lake Party at Jon's Uncle Ed's cabin on Lake Hitchcock in Wolcott, CT. Great quantities of food and fun were had by all. Jon's parents were gracious enough to let me and Seth stay at their house after Lake Party. Decorating one of their walls was a series of ornithological and botanical prints. From these, I was able to deduce a plant near work I had been nerding out about was Kalmia latifolia, mountain-laurel.
Finally, I owe
