I should very much like that to be over for a very long time. I almost think that sheep growing out of the ground is more ordinary than sheep going mad.

Turns out some people decided to perform the slave labor anyway, despite all expectations to the contrary. They rounded up all the sheep and handed them over to the deities.

Oh, yes, it was very strange! Only, I'd seen a little boy turn into a pig before, so perhaps it wasn't so strange.

No, not at all. But, then, the place where I saw it happen isn't really where I'm from. So perhaps it's common there, but it isn't at all common for me where I'm really from.
