So things like this really happen! In June, Makoto Shinkai was in London with his amazing movie Byousoku 5 Centimeter. And he did an interview! And he signed autographs! And he made doodles while autographing!
Agh, too bad I'm Italian and didn't know of it sooner ;_; Visiting London, and seeing Byousoku 5 Centimeter on big screen would be great.

Cool :O
I actually haven´t seen Byousoku 5 centimeter yet ^^' Though I´ve seen Voices of a distant star and The place promised in our early days. I´ve heard a lot of good things about it so I really want to see it but I haven´t had the time...
But I will! ^^

Go wild imagination!

Byousoku 5 cm was the first movie by Makoto Shinkai I saw, so it has a special place in my heart. It's really melancholic, it gives similar vibes to The Place Promised In Our Early Days... yet more sad ;_; (but I have to say I'm an emotional person ^^;) Nevertheless, it's the one I like the most. And it has outstanding backgrounds! :O (I'd like to print them all and cover my room with those colorful images.)

I haven't seen Voices of a Distant Star yet, but I will soon (I hope XD). I've only read the manga adaptation by Yumeka Sumomo, which was lovely ♥

I´m a really emotional person too, I cried in the end of both The place promised in our early days and Voices of a distant star, and in the end of the manga ^^'

I hope I´ll find time to see Byousoku 5 centimeters soon and I hope you´ll be able to see voices a distant star.
The manga and the anime is a bit different. I liked the manga better (Sumomo Yumeka <3) but I liked the anime too.
