So last night I went to the British Ambassador's house for the Annual Reception for the DC Alums of WM.  I had a fantastic time even though I was rather dreading the going there alone part - funny thing, champagne makes talking to strangers quite easy.  XD  But I met the British Ambassador and his wife along with the Taylor Reveley and the new ( Read more... )

That sounds so fancy, haha. I'm glad you got to go! It's so... British. :'D You got to meet the diplomat, though, that's so cool! I'm glad he was nice. It sounds like such a fun outing!

Wow, lots of exclamation points, haha. What's The Cheese Shop?

It was very fancy pants. Although I think I was the only girl there in a pants-suit. ^^;;;; Everyone else was wearing dresses.

Ahh~ The Cheese Shop~! It's like the Holy Grail of every student on campus. XD http://www.cheeseshopwilliamsburg.com/

Basically, it's a really awesome deli with the most amazing cheese you'll get on this side of the Atlantic. But most penniless students go there for $1 bag of bread ends and a tub their House Dressing to dip it in. Which is to die for. You kind of have to wait in line for the bread ends, because they just disappear in two minutes flat. ^^;;;

I probably would've gone for the pants suit myself. They're so much more comfortable, haha. I bet you looked like a secret service agent. :D

Oh god. I'm drooling. I can't. I'm going to go do mean things to a bag of pretzel bread now. Someday I'm going to visit you and you should take me to amazing places like this, haha.

Haha, it was really awesome. XD The only downside was that my poor, only just graduated self does not have such an awesome job to brag about than most of the alums did. ^^; Though I suppose even having one is a plus.

It definitely was. The only downside was all the tourists turning up on campus, but we made a sport out of making fun of them and turning them all around. XD

Ha, tourists. We don't have university campuses like you guys, our uni buildings are in the middle of the city like any other building. Anyway, my uni is in a place called Puerto Madero, just next to the river and it's a place where tourists always go when they come to Buenos Aires; so, if you are chilling out outside the building you always get people with socks and sandals taking photographs XD
