Strangely enough, I've got a friend coming to England in the summer as well.
It kind of depends on your budget and how much you're willing to travel across the country, because a lot of must-see destinations are out of the capital.
You definitely should go to Stratford-Upon-Avon like someone else said. I live very near to it and I can assure you, there is lots to see there. There's the canal, the theatre group (I'd recommend seeing a play over here if you could), the houses, and there's also a little butterfly farm I practically grew up in, aha. If you like ABSOLUTELY GIANT BUTTERFLIES then it's an exciting place.
You should go visit a countryside village too, like the Cotswolds - it's leaps different to the cities, but it's still adorably pleasant. Or you should go to a seaside city. Nothing like the ocean in Summer.
:D Thank you very much! Haha, unfortunately, I have a cohort that I must convince to do all these things. She is absolutely dead set on stonehenge. ^^;
You're welcome. I read that you're going to Stonehenge. You won't be allowed to touch the stones, it's roped off, and all a bit silly slowly marching round them like a tortoise conga line, but...also in Wiltshire and about 20 miles away is Avebury: http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/avebury/ http://www.stonepages.com/england/avebury.html Biggest stone circle in the world and you can get up close and personal with the stones.:D
Hmm let’s see... well if you're going to London; without fail go to baker street; Sherlock Holmes museum (never been) and right next to that is a Beatles store (been in there, it was awesome), Madame Tussaudes, that's pretty cool (baker street again; highlight of my childhood was seeing the Holmes statue XD). Camden market is a MUST! Go there! It’s bloody fantastic

Thank you so much! I love free things. XD
In all seriousness, I couldn't go unless I got the "free" ride over, so this is really great!
