Whoa. Car? Does he have to drive straight back to Michigan?

I note that it's a HARDCORE drive from Boston to SE Michigan - about 850 miles. I did Manchester to Ann Arbor in a day but, well, new car, insanity, experience, etcetc.

However, Boston to Odenton, MD is a relatively mellow 500, and Odenton, MD to SE Michigan is likewise a relatively mellow 550. :)

i'm glad to see somebody pleading guilty when they're actually guilty, rather than, like.. pleading not-guilty when they're actually guilty, just to work the system as long as possible..

Work the system to get away with something, if you'll permit me to extend a bit.
Still, yeah, it's nice to see someone own up to this. The hard part for me was how to feel now that he HAS said, "yeah, I did, I'm sorry, I need help." ... What do we do with THIS guy when we let equally nasty criminals off easy (pleabargains, etc.)?

Of course, I wonder how 'easy' 10 years is compared to 15, 20, 25, etc. I hope to never find out.

I just feel terrible that it all happened. The guy clearly needs help. I'm with you on being conflicted re: sentencing. I mean, what do we do with him?

On the one hand you'd like to say, "Ok, well, you've been cooperative, we'll go easy but reasonable."
On the other hand, my hair stands on end and I think /KIDDIE PORN/, LOCK HIM UP FOR A LONG TIME.
