A man with a dream || G || Taoris

“I have made up my mind.” Tao snapped out of his daze and looked up at his friend. His hand still supported his face, so he didn’t land face-first into the desk, but it was covered in drool. “Huh?” He said, wiping the drool onto his trousers. If he hadn’t been woken up by his friend, then he probably sleep throughout the whole class without knowing he was there. “I have made up my mind.” Kris turned his head around, eyes sparkling with determination. His pen lay loosely in his hand, his hair was disheveled and he looked tired. “Yeah, but about what?” Kris pulled Tao against him, swinging an arm around his shoulder to pull him snug against his side. “I want to become an artist!” As he said that, he waved his hand in front of them, forming some sort of rainbow with his hand. Tao followed his hand with his eyes. “Do you believe I can do this, Tao?” Kris asked, looking to his side where Tao could barely breath, because his body was being squeezed too tightly. “Of course, you can do whatever you want, Kris. As long as you believe in yourself. I will be behind your decision.” Tao said. The look on Kris’s face made him feel warm from the inside. Kris seemed so determined to pursue his dreams, to make them come true. “I will quit my studies, despite the will of my parents and I will become an artist!” He stood up, towering over all the other students, who turned their heads to look at him. His put his nose in the air, while looking around the classroom. “Fellow students, I am off. You can go and ram all this nonsense into your brains, while I follow the path of art.” He shook his blonde hair out of his eyes. Then he looked directly at Tao. “I need your help as I pack my stuff, Tao.” He nodded at the professor and then marched out of the classroom, everyone staring at him. Tao sighed, feeling slightly embarrassed because of his friend. But if Kris had a dream, he had to support him.

“Thank you for coming, Tao.” Kris said, as he opened the door to his dorm room. He had already packed some of his stuff, so there were a few boxes and suitcases near the door. “I’m so thankful that at least someone is behind my decision.” He sighed dramatically, taking his hand through his hair. “Nobody understands art, and it’s value.” It looked like he was about to cry, a tear adorning his eyes. “But Tao, before I leave you here in this shack of uncultured kids, I wanted to give you my most recent work of art as some sort of goodbye gift.” Kris turned around to search for it as Tao stood in the middle of the living room, clutching his keys and pulling his leather jacket closer to his body to keep himself warm. “Here it is.” Kris said, handing him a piece of paper. Tao slowly pulled the thin layer which lay over it away to take a look. “Kris…” He said, carefully finding the right words. “You know, don’t hate me, but college is very important too.” Kris’s eyes immediately got droopy again. “So you too, huh?” He said, flailing his arms in the air, a tear spilling over his cheek. “Kris, I don’t want to be mean, but what the fuck is this supposed to be?” Tao pointed at the few circles and stripes in the middle. “A duck!” Kris exclaimed loudly. “A duck doesn’t have four legs, though.” Tao was shoved away, as Kris ran into his room. “Let a man dream, Tao!” He screamed. “Well, I assume I see you tomorrow in class, don’t be late.” Tao said, putting the drawing on the couch next to him and walking back to the front door. “I won’t.” He heard faintly from the bedroom.

Save your day || G || Taoris

Tao strutted through the street, while taking pictures of the city. Spring had just come around and it was a beautiful day. Tao had decided to just walk around the city instead of going to class, as he would not pay attention anyways. But as he rounded the corner, someone snatched his bag away from his arm. "Hey! Someone stop him!" He shouted, pointing at the man and running after him. He kept yelling, until someone jumped in front of the man. "Fear no more, Tao, for I have the power of bandanas!" Kris raised his arms above himself to form a triangle shape. The man who had stolen Tao's bag stared at him in disbelieve, before running off, past Kris. Tao just stood there, literally facepalming at his friend. Kris wore only black, with a row of bandanas fastened around his arms, head and legs. He looked like one giant bandana. Shortly: ridiculous. Tao's mind just drifted away from his bag as he stared at the tall man. "Don't worry, Tao, I will catch him!" Kris saluted him, winked at a pretty woman staring at him from her seat on a bench and turned around. "I will catch you, thief!" He yelled, jumping up in the air and stretching his fist out in front of himself.

"Sign here, please." The woman behind the desk said. Tao signed the papers and went back to the waiting room, sitting down on one of the uncomfortable plastic chairs. "I can't believe it." He shook his head as he slumped in his seat. Beside him, Kris was sitting with an icepack against his bleeding cheek. "What where you thinking?" Kris just shrugged. Tears streamed down his face, onto the bandanas which he had taken off and piled in his lap. Tao grunted. "Now I have to wait here to get you checked and then go to the police." Kris looked at him. "I'm sorry I couldn't catch him, Tao. Next time I will." Tao immediately sat up straight, shaking his head and waving his hands in front of his face. "No, there's no need to do that. I will catch him myself if this ever happens again, please just stay in school." Kris nodded sadly.

King of the world || G || Taoris

Tao was sitting in his seat in the classroom, impatiently tapping his foot on the floor. He couldn't wait until class was over and he could just go home and sleep there. It was much nicer to sleep in a bed than on a wooden table. When the bell rang, he shot up from his seat, gathering all his stuff and quickly running out of the room. Once outside he walked a little slower. The day had been quite calm, calmer than usual. Maybe that was because Kris hadn't been there. Now that he thought about it, where had he been? Maybe he should pay him a visit before going home.

"Kris?" He yelled through the door, after he had knocked. "Who is there?" He heard. Tao rolled his eyes, knocking on the door again. "Tao, open up." There was some stumbling on the other side of the door and then silence. "How dare you speak to me like that, peasant." That made Tao raise his eyebrows. Sighing, he got his keys out of his pocket and opened the door himself. The room was dark and the living room was unfurnished apart from one giant chair covered in silk. Kris sat on the chair, a plastic crown on his head and sunglasses on. "Oh no." Tao whispered, already feeling where this was going to. "Come here. I allow you to speak." Kris sat with his back straight, arms on the armrests, facing the wall opposite of him without turning to Tao. "What is going on?" Tao asked. "War, that is what going on, peasant. Saddle my alpaca, so I can ride to the battlefield and go forth of my men." Tao sighed again. "Kris, please just stop this nonsense, what the fuck." Kris eyed him, he turned ever so slowly. "I will have you beheaded! No respect at all for your king!" He stood up from his throne, pointing the stick which acted as a scepter towards the dark haired man. "I'll see you tomorrow, Kris." Tao said, walking out of the man's dorm room, leaving a bewildered Kris behind.
