nostalgia the weird way

I know nostalgia is supposed to be this big awesome thing. Sometimes, though, it's a little unsettling. I suppose it will only get worse as the years go by and I move from "old according to kids" to "actually old", but it's weird to think of things that feel recent as decades ago. Here's an example for everyone the same generation as me:

Think of 10 years from now when all those Twilight tweens can legally drink. I think it's one of the 5 signs of the apocalypse.

I totally understand. I think of things that happened when I was in high school, and think, "That wasn't too long ago... It was just 1996... Oh fuck me, that was 13 years ago!"

I'm just glad my version of reliving my youth is the 90s. If I was reliving the 80s we'd have some serious problems.
